Now that talented LSU pass rusher K'Lavon Chaisson is out for the season with an injury, Ed Orgeron and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda used this week of practice to figure out who could fill in from him going forward.

Orgeron met with media on Thursday night and mentioned junior Michael Divinity, sophomores Ray Thorton and Andre Anthony, and JUCO transfer Travez Moore as options to replace Chaisson.

“You have to look at Ray Thornton,” Orgeron said. “I think he’s done a good job. Andre Anthony, I think he’s done a good job. Michael Divinity had a strong camp and I think Travez Moore has come along. Those guys are going to play more and we’re going to need them.

“But if you’re looking for anybody who has stepped up, I’d say it’s been Ray Thornton and Andre Anthony.”
Orgeron also added that Divinity, who is LSU's starting field linebacker, has the ability to play both sides.

People sleeping on Thorton. I shite you not he is better than Chaisson and the second best linebacker on team. He just hasn’t gotten his chance yet
