English is my wife’s fourth (of six) language, and she writes (in English) far better than that. In fact, probably better than most message board posters. I’m all for giving a chance to kids from poor educational backgrounds, but after spending a year in college, this is unacceptable and shouldn’t be happening. A lot of us would have failed classes if we turned in essays or term papers written like that. P.R. 101 should be a mandatory first year course for scholarship athletes. Twitter pretty much forces the school to ensure that all players know what to and what not to say on social media, as well as how to say it when it’s appropriate to comment.

Nah. Poor spelling, grammar and punctuation destroys all credibility instantly. If he’s going to comment, he needs to make it read like he’s a high school graduate and college student. Again, all scholarship athletes should take PR 101 their first semester on campus.

Agreed. LSU does not need to become known for harboring punk criminals just because of their athletic abilities. Being fast and elusive is great, unless you learned how to do it by running from the police after you had committed a crime.

Not gonna stop with the comments on his English. The kid is supposed to be ready for college. Hell, he couldn't pass a first year Sesame Street class. Do y'all understand that college is for those students who are intelligent, learned, and ready to learn? If your only skill is football, and youcan't even speak your native language properly, then what the **** are you doing taking up a scholarship that could be used for someone with a functioning brain?

There is no such thing as a student-athlete any more. If you're a good athlete you get a pass. You're admitted to the university with lower scores than are required for others. Listen to most of these "student-athletes" when they speak. They can't put two coherent sentences together. It's an embarrassment to our state, to our educational system, and to humanity that we allow this into our collegiate educational system. No wonder people are making fun of us. Our football teams in the south are great, but the players are idiot savants. They can play ball, but can't even spell their own damned names.
