Ohio State quarterback Joe Burrow announced that he will be leaving Columbus as a graduate transfer to explore other options at another school.

Some believe LSU could be a potential landing spot for the former four-star dual-threat prospect along with schools like Florida, Nebraska, and others.

Head coach Ed Orgeron has said this offseason that he would like to add a transfer quarterback to the roster and Burrow is now the best free agent QB available.

The 6-3, 215-pound prospect from The Plains, Ohio graduated this past Saturday and will have 2 years of eligibility left at his next school.

Sounds like between Cincy and LSU. LINK

We would be fortunate to have him. I would like our chances to make the CFP. If I had to put my money on it, I would say he winds up in Florida learning under Dan Mullen. :(

I would definitely take him, but man it would have been nice for him to have been here in the spring. I think his signing would at the very least cause at least 1 transfer, but honestly, that was probably gonna happen anyway. If they could somehow convince Brennan to redshirt to mature physically and mentally(football wise), it could work out really well in both the short and long terms. But if the current guys get pissed and there’s a mass exodus, it could be disastrous going forward. But with what we saw in the spring, I think you have to roll the dice.

Shit, if this happens, LSU has a serious chance to be really good this year. The only reason this guy isn't starting for Ohio St, is because Haskins is ridiculously good.

This is a very good point. The QB position at Ohio State is very crowded right now. He is good, and Haskins is the only reason he is not starting. It is like a 1A and 1B.

Coach O's job could be on the line with this decision. Make it happen O!!!

Make this happen. JM is next man up. Brennan can redshirt and add some weight. Have some goal line and short yard packages for Narcisse.

Some people don't realize that this could be a blessing for LSU. Allows Brennan to bulk up and redshirt. If McMillan doesn't transfer, he'll be a great backup. In 2020, you have 1-2 4th year Juniors and 1-2 big name redshirts battling for the starting spot.

Just goes to show you how much confidence they have in the current roster because they all looked terrible in spring. If people are saying you're going to miss Etling at QB then you know you have it bad on the current roster. This team is trouble and it's going to get ugly in game 1 for LSU.

I wonder why the Pats would roll the dice on such a bad player.......? GTFOH

Jwils stop, they drafted Etling 6th round. They drafted a QB in the 2nd round 2 years ago. They are looking for a backup for Brady

No thanks. Happy with LN and Myles.

Florida seems like a natural fit since Mullen was Meyer’s OC and would run something he’s familiar with. Doubt he comes to LSU to run the 4-wide, goal line power spread.

In theory this makes sense. Florida, now has Emory Jones who Ohio State wanted bad...he is going to be really good! I was bummed that we lost him to Florida. I am a Burrow fan and I feel LSU is the best fit for him and LSU...he would play right away and is a very accurate QB. I would be happy for both LSU and Burrow. He just wants to play, and who can blame him for that?

How many starts did he have at Ohio State?

Doesn't matter. Would you rather someone taught to play QB by our coaches or Urban Meyer?

The same number as the quarterbacks on our roster combined.

His spring game highlights looked good, and has maturity judging from the post-game interview. Will play with a chip on his shoulder, hope he lands here.

Our QBs must completely suck. O is interested in anyone with a pulse that is transferring.

Believe I would take any OSU QB over any of our qb's...just sayin....

They can bring in all the top prospects they want if they don't have a qb coach worth a shite they're all gonna suck

A transfer is obviously looking to start immediately at his new school. I believe LSU is the best team that has that opportunity for a transfer QB. Also LSU just so happens to be where the best defensive conference in the country hands down is. 1. IF he came to the sec we would know that he’s got guts. 2. IF he came to the sec he would have an opportunity to show case his abilities at the top stage (against sec def) for the QB position in college football.

I'm as big a Nebraska fan as there is, and I can assure you, he won't be going there. We already have two freshmen on the roster (one redshirt, one true) who are top-notch.

They can develop behind him. Guy will have two years, former 4 star and dual threat. You think Bama fans minded Jake Coker winning them a national championship when they had 4 and 5 star recruited players sitting behind him?
