John Reed-USA TODAY Sports
LSU coach Ed Orgeron spoke to the media on Monday and provided an update on the quarterback situation as Myles Brennan recovers from a lingering lower-body injury.

Brennan has not played since the Missouri game on October 11 but will throw at practice on Monday, according to Orgeron. His status for the Alabama game in two weeks is still unknown.

Orgeron said the competition between freshmen TJ Finley and Max Johnson is open again after Finley's shaky performance vs. Auburn and both players will compete to be the starter vs. Alabama if Brennan us unable to play.

Lets just run the wildcat with Jontre Kirklin and call it a year..

How is that going to help develop QB2 & QB3? It won't. Let the young men compete. It's still an honor to pull on the P&G, even in a down year.

Just sit Myles for Bama. They will target the injury, and set back the clock.

If I don’t watch the gump game, will it have actually happened? Can I trick my mind I thinking the pending arse whopping never really happened?

A mobile QB is the only chance of being competitive against Alabama. Scoring points may motivate the defense. Beating Alabama would me our National Championship.

If ‘Not looking like shite’ doesn’t motivate the defense, I don’t know what would.

Max is the Man. He's got what it takes, the whole package. But I hope Brennan is ready come gump time. If the defense continues to play like crap it won't matter if Burrow is back there. Auburn had zero as in '0' 3 and outs. I hope i'm wrong but Coach seems distracted and uninterested on the sideline. WHERE's the FIRE, one team one heartbeat, its up to you COach O to fix this mess.

I'm afraid O has met the enemy, and his initials are Bo Pelini . The problem is his hands are tied . I think it goes above O.

So the basic logical deduction is start Max Johnson; it makes zero sENSE TO REOPEN competition when it was already done and Johnson clearly won the comoetition...he has the potential to be better than myles if they get behind him and apply some common sense in their play calling -- when youre breaking in a new qb and your defense is very underwhelming, institute a short passing game into your offense...heck the patriots got to at least four of their six superbowls on the back of a short passing game....short quick passes (esp slant routes to the sidelines are very difficult to defend and they build confidence of qb and chemistry w his receiving corps. Think LSU in 2007 with Mauck. Beat some teams they werent supposed to beat w short passing game.

Holy fart Oman. TJ might have made his mistakes but Come on Man. What about having a oline that was able to run the ball. LSU got outran and outmuscled on both lines.

He talked about the offensive line

I agree but max played with the same line and got us 7 on the board. Both struggled and of course O line was a factor in the offensive struggles

Chief we could have Joe Burrow back for Bama and still probably lose this year.

TJ Finley should be moved to Tight End. Change my mind.
