Coach O Offers Up High Praise For QB Myles Brennan

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron was down in Houma, La, on Wednesday night and offered up some high praise for quarterback Myles Brennan who has stepped up as a leader, according to Coach O. Per WAFB:

“Myles really turned it on in the fourth quarter program,” said Orgeron. “He got up to 210 pounds. He became a leader. He was breaking down the team. You can see the excitement in Myles. He knows he’s going to play. He’s healthy. He’s following Joe, Joe’s showing him a lot of stuff. Myles probably has a better arm than Joe, better release. We’ll see what happens.”

I believe the presence of Joe Burrow was the best thing that happened to Myles and his career at LSU.

Yea he has had time to mature and then net year he can take over and still have two years left.

Not only Myles but the entire offense. Burrow will have had a huge impact on this program when it’s all over. Mark my words. Imagine what it would have been like without that commitment last year?? Going get Joe was one of the smartest decisions O has made since coaching imo. That stability is huge for an offenses identity. LSU is changing its identity so he was exactly who we needed to help change it. People just don’t quite understand how difficult it is to change a run first power run team identity to a spread offense in a year? LSU has had this identity for decades. That’s not easy to change for anyone much less the coaches and players. Even the fans can be perplexed. Yea who cares about them but the perception does matter so you have to make it a smooth transition for everyone. I think they’ve done a brilliant job of that so far. Now they can take the next step with the young coach here to help. It’s exactly what LSU needed to transition imo. Steve is here to help the new coach understand what key is about and has been about then you have the new coach to help Steve to understand that you can blend the two styles to work. It’s what I thought they would do last year but maybe O wanted to find the perfect coach to do that. I think there’s no doubt that he will be transitioning to be our new OC. No doubt. LSU will have two of the youngest and some say brightest minds on both O and D. That would truly be something if it all works out the way it’s looking. LSU will beat Bama soon and Saban will soon retire once that dominance is over bc that’s how he is. But I don’t think Bamas dominance will end with Saban. Dabo will take over that program and continue the ways. LSU needs to take advantage of these last years where Saban can slip up in his older years. This is the time to take it back LSU.

Myles is going to be legit. More than legit. I think he can be all SEC in his first year. By the time he leaves I think he’ll have the season record for TDs thrown. I think Joe will either come close to the record or tie it this year then Myles will be in the 20’s to mid 20’s his first year then 30’s his second. He’s a better thrower than Joe is and it’s not close really. It’s the decision making ability and leadership ability where Joe has a huge leg up at this time. Myles will not regret staying and I hope it opens up some eyes for some of our current guys on the roster. You put the time in at one school and you will be rewarded big time. I think it was very mature of Myles to stay and he will reap the benefits of that smart decision. Finally a change for LSU at the QB position. I knew coach O and this staff would get it done too. O gets a bum rep but he’s turning this program around and has done it the right way. If LSU can land some 5* top 10 OTs we will see a huge momentum swing altogether. I’m so pumped about this teams and programs future. It looks bright. I gave this man a change from the start because I could see the passion he had for this program and it wasn’t fake. Its the real deal and these recruits can feel that. It’s on SEC, it’s freakn ON. If LSU can do what it did to GA last year then we can beat anyone this year. I would love to see a real butt whipping on Texas at their stadium. That will set the tone and tell everyone LSU is back boys!! Keep sleeping on these Tigers and wake up battered and bruised. Go Tigers
