The LSU defense has significantly improved this season, with several freshmen stepping up to the plate early in their college careers.

On Tuesday, head coach Brian Kelly was asked about some of the newcomers on defense and said spring football helped get them ready.
quote:

"Spring ball helps, Kelly said. "All these kids were here, besides Dominick McKinley, for spring ball."

"Dominick is coming on and making progress each and every week in terms of what he's able to do. He's going to be a really good football player. He's got some work to do, but I like the progress he's making."

"Ahmad Breaux has been really good. He's detailed and organized in what he's doing every day. He's assignment correct. We ask him to do a specific job, and he does it."

"Dashawn Spears is a good tackler. He's long and rangy. He's in the right place at the right time. He's feeling his way through it a little bit as a freshman, but as he gains even more confidence, you will see him continue to grow."

"All of these guys benefited from spring. McKinley's is a little bit of a different situation because he's so physically gifted."

It hasnt significantly improved. We're still ranked like 60th in defense. That's horrible at the level LSU recruits. No excuse not to be top 20 bare minimum.

Bruh you aren't going to jump from one of the worst defenses in America to top 20 in one offseason. You are trippin...this isn't the NFL. It's a big feat that they jumped to middle of the pack in so short a time really.

I'm thinking...Brian from Family Guy? Well, he's pretty smart, what's his take on it.
