New LSU starting center Braelin Moore suffered an ankle injury on the first snap vs. Louisiana Tech last week and was replaced by redshirt sophomore DJ Chester.

Chester started at center all of last season but is now a backup rotational player at multiple positions on the offensive line.

On Monday, head coach Brian Kelly expressed his confidence in Chester, who is back in the driver's seat while Moore is out.
quote:

"If he has to start at center, we are very comfortable with him, Kelly said. "Having someone like him is invaluable. He didn't take a ton of snaps the last couple of weeks at center. We had him out at left tackle; he's played guard. He's so valuable. He went in there and did a heck of a job."
Regarding Moore's injury status, Kelly stated that he is "day-to-day and will be listed as questionable for the Florida game."

Coach-speak. No way CBK can be that stupid to have full faith in him.

You can't be stupid enough to think BK is gonna say "he'll no, he sucks, we will do the best we can".

Well, yea, that is what I said, Coach Speak.

We all know the truth.

So what BK is really saying is I have no choice but to have faith in Chester. Don't worry coach, we understand...

Moore needs to spend every waking nanosecond that he can, giving Chester a crash course in playing center!

Hey NegaTigers, how bout if DJ Chester plays well and LSU wins, then all of you self-ban yourselves for the rest of this season. It would be nice not having all tge beechin, whining, and moaning posts here every damn day.

Do you think the same about movie critics?

This is the coach's equivalent of "whistling past the graveyard". Kelly knows something is very wrong with Chester in the game but just hopes he can make it through games until Moore the competent center can play.

Chester struggles to call the line shifts/assignments and spend more time in the backfield than Nuss. This is on the coaches for not have a viable backup center

FL will knock him back into Nuss. He cannot play center, if he does, we could lose this game. No running accept on the outside, screens and counters. This game could be a disaster with him on offense. But, our defense might let us squeak by. Chester knows he is about to be exposed big time. Again.

If BK seriously thinks this, I now question his coaching ability and talent evaluation. Chester is bad, like really bad.
