On Monday, LSU head coach Brian Kelly joined the SEC Network crew at the SEC Media Days in Dallas, where Nick Saban asked him if there were any young players he thought would surprise fans this season.

Kelly named freshmen Dominick McKinley, Gabriel Reliford, and Jelani Watkins as players who can make an early impact and sophomore DaShawn Womack as someone who could break out in year two.

Watkins was a shocker he just joined the team this summer of course he has speed to kill on the field as a WR . Maybe he met PJ at the CB position maybe BK pulled a Biden it happens .

If Womack has the season we believe he is capable of it is only going to make Perkins more difficult to block. Hope these two feed off each other as a pass rush duo.

Coy and calculated answer. He prefaced by saying he doesn’t like to throw bouquets to freshmen. I’d bet he intentionally didn’t bring up guys like Woodland and McBryde to keep the hype down on the ones he really knows he will probably need to rely on this season

I don’t think his answers are as calculated as you think. He’s just naming a few freshman and a sophomore that have improved during the offseason. Not every he says has some hidden meaning.
