During his radio show on Thursday night, head coach Brian Kelly talked about defensive lineman Maason Smith, who is still getting back to himself after missing last season with an ACL injury.

Kelly said that Smith continues to "knock off the rust" and has shown improvement in his first two games. He's also expecting Smith to "take over in some one-on-one situations.”

Until the rust is “knocked off” Jefferson needs to play a lot more than they’re playing him currently. He seems WAY more disruptive when in the game.
