Former Oklahoma tight end Bauer Sharp announced Friday that he has committed to LSU and will sign with the Tigers.

Updated LSU Football Roster Changes Tracker

Sharp, a redshirt junior from Dothan, Ala., had 42 catches for 324 yards and two touchdowns for the Sooner this year. He led the team in receptions and receiving yards.

The 6-4, 243-pound tight end began his career at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Sharp will fill an instant hole left by Mason Taylor, who declared for the NFL Draft, and Ka'Morreun Pimpton, who entered the transfer portal.

LSU's freshman Trey'Dez Green will also have an expanded role in LSU's offseason next season in his second year.

Head coach Brian Kelly comments on Sharp during his Friday press conference:

Definitely a good pickup and nice fit and allows Green to keep playing Wideout if thats the better fit. Whatever happens, Green needs to be on the field as much as possible.

Calling it right now, first offensive play in the last game next year (vs Oklahoma) is a trick play with this guy throwing a pass (completed for 25 yard gain)... you hear it here first.

This guy reminds me of the dude that left GA last year, tough blocker, good hands. This is a quality player in a position we need after MT left. Welcome to LSU. GEAUX TIGER'S!

Yep Brock Bowers - he looks to me more of a physical blocker and runner than Mason Taylor - hopefully he has hands like Taylor !

I’m being told this guy cannot block. What’s the point in having him if we already have Trey’Dez?

So how much are we paying him? I mean they are begging fans to donate $$$, I think the fans deserve a financial breakdown

Maybe he will complete a pass in Tiger Stadium.

He already has a perfect completion percentage to the Tigers! Would be hilarious if he had a successful trick play for us next year against the Sooners.
