Key set the single-season school sack record (12) in 2016 as a sophomore but missed five games in 2017 and recorded just 4 sacks.

I'm not concerned with how many LSU players are in the NFL. I interested in how they play at LSU and if we are winning when they are here. I'm tired of all the LSU has the most players on NFL rosters talk. So what if we just keep winning 8 and 9 games a year an go to a bowl in December or a bowl played at 11am on January 1st. So what?

He quit well before his junior year, so what lessons did you learn exactly? That the third year of a high-profile players' collegiate tenure is useless?

I agree we shouldn't turn on him but also get the resentment, an apology to LSU fans would go a long way to helping that, that said, he could be the next Clowney or the next Nkemdiche, we don't know

Glad he learned something. Cuz he didn't play skool or football @ LSU.

Well isn't that wonderfull? Arden Key takes some mysterious time off and comes back out of shape. He wasted a year and now is proud he allegedly learned "a life lesson" at LSU's expense. Good for you Mr. Key. What a horrible team mate. Bye.

The dumb ones are the scouts...they'll see this and say "see he's matured now, he even spoke if his poor play in college", and they'll draft him higher. I'm proud of tigers who make the league. But when a kid has self discipline issues in college, very seldom do they disappear and not resurface. This kid has to stay in shape year round for the NFL....I don't see him doing that effectively once he has pockets full of cash and 5 months to chill. Troy was the worse I've seen an LSU Dr play in 30 years..I don't give a frick if he was out of shape, he was easily the worst player on the field and probably the slowest. I still can't believe Aranda played him! In my eyes, that who lost that game

But honestly....it worked out for Clowney. Key very well could be a great pro. It sucks how it went at LSU but we all mature as we get older.

cas4t, I get fed up with you appologists who always are so sympathetic to every damn frick-up who comes along. What is especially annoying is the fact that most if the time people like you are not even LSU fans. I notice tgat LSU isn't your favorite team yet you have such understanding in your heart toward a kid like Arden Key. Hell, I guess so because you are a marginal LSU fan at best. Stfu.

Almost always root for the ex-Tigers. This guy not so much, I felt he quit on his team and that is disappointing. Don't see much happening for him at the next level.

I almost never post. But I heard that Mr Mingo and Mr Montgomery were all world. I also am really tired of this invoking God stuff. It seems every young man has direction or support from God. This could be impressive if I saw these divine interventions. This is pretty disgusting to me. Don’t use his name in vane I’ve always heard. I am not asking these young men for proof. I ask them to examine their conscious and soul before invoking GOD’S WILL.

His on field performance hurt him. He better have great combine numbers. He will drop a few slots.

The entire purpose of this tweet is summed up i that last line "The Georgia native is currently preparing for the NFL Combine in Phoneix, AZ." This 'is just damage control. Someone finally figured out that NFL teams don't want a lazy arse. This is the spin that his agent is telling him to put out there in advance of the combine / draft hoping some dumbass GM from a team like Cleveland bites on.

You are the fool if you think he is not being coached by someone to say the "right" things in advance of the draft. He is going to have to go through interviews at the combine and explain his extended absence from his team and coming back out of shape. This is the beginning of that explanation. He is going to say that he has learned from his mistakes and he is a changed man. Some team with a history of making bad draft picks is going to fall for this routine.

He just proved that he didn’t learn anything by declaring draft when he had a horrible junior year and out of shape.

I don't get it with him, if it was so disappointing why not stay at Lau, get your degree and get better than what you did in your junior year. He already got his mind on the draft now so hope he gets drafted where he wants. But why think about your disapointing season to his standards when you can do something bout it- stay one more year.....

Well he could have applied those lessons to his senior year...

Well, one thing is for sure, the NFL will find out what his "personal issues" were this past offseason. It may affect his draft stock too. I hope he goes early and has a long, prosperous NFL career. Good luck arden.

Is Key now apologizing to LSU fans and doing it cause his agent said it would make his resume look better for draft?

Arden Key had a down year, but was still voted 1st team by the SEC coaches. That should tell you something about his junior year. His stock will skyrocket after the combine. He like most rookies not in the top 10 of the draft get the big payday on the second contract. He made a good decision and he is a rare talent. He should have been able to declare for the draft at the end of his sophmore year just like Fournette should have been able to do so.

Or it says the SEC Coaches (or interns/SID) don’t take that request seriously or have the time/data to make an honest assessment.
