Talented five-star running back and major LSU target Zachary Evans is no longer announcing his commitment this Wednesday, according to Barton Simmons with 247Sports.

Evans previously sent a Tweet out on Sunday saying that he would be committing Wednesday but has deleted that Tweet.

The 6-0, 200-pound prospect from Houston, Texas (North Shore HS) is the No. 1 running back in the country for the class of 2020, according to 247Sports. His top schools are believed to be LSU, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

Evans visited LSU unofficially back in the summer and took his official visit to Baton Rouge for the Auburn game on October 26. The Tigers currently do not have any other running backs committed for the class of 2020.

He is by far our biggest need, a running back to come in day 1 and dominate. Not quite sure what we have in emery and TDP

That's a terrible take. Most likely he will be just like every freshman running back and need some time to acclimate. I have 100% confidence in Emery and TDP next season. Expect huge jumps from both. Part of the reason so many are disappointed in Emery is because, just like Fournette as a true Freshman, expectations were HIGHLY unrealistic.

This may be the worst take I've ever heard

Are you serious?. Apparently you don’t watch LSU very closely if you don’t know why they have in TDP. Dude is a beast. And Emery will progress into one as well.

Waiting to see if LSU keeps Brady or if Herman lures him away?

There is a reason he quit twice on his team this season! This is not a player LSU needs! He is a basket case! Downvote all you want but this kid is trouble!

He wants to see final result and make sure this school is right fit for him. I wouldn't worry bout it. Lsu needs to take care of business like they have been and kids will flock to LSU like they currently are now

I trust some clown named Steve Janowski more then the people that explained the situation from the top recruiting service out there

Ohio State he would start on day one.

Same with at LSU. He would start on day 1 and he knows it. He wants to make sure a few things happen or gearing towards first is what I am hearing about this guy.

So what? I don't buy into all this 5-star nonsense. CEH was a 3-star-- How far behind CEH would this guy be if he was already on the team? Davis-Price was a 4-star and Emery was a 5-star, but CEH is the man because of his work ethic and dedication as much as his experience. CEH always wanted LSU-- Give us another one like him and keep the extra stars.

Lol, did you buy into this “5 star nonsense” when Fournette, Dalvin Cook, Nick Chubb, and Sony Michel were tearing up CFB? Just because every single 5* doesn’t turn into an all American as a freshmen doesn’t mean that it isn’t good to sign them

Actually, no. I didn't buy into it then, either. I'm not sure when it started to not matter so much to me, but I know both Feleipe Franks and Joe Burrow were 4-star QBs, and I can honestly say I don't care that Franks committed elsewhere now. I know Cam Akers and Najee Harris were both highly ranked 5-stars, and they have 5-star stats to justify that, but I never got upset that LSU didn't get them, and I'm not gonna start now. Seems like Mitch Mustain and Da'Rick Rogers were 5-star recruits, too. I'll leave the determination of who is good to sign to the coaches and continue to not let 1 5-star's hesitance to state where he wants to commit this week excite me.

I should add that it's not so much that "every single 5* doesn't turn into an all American," but more that 3* players like CEH and Michael Thomas, currently of the Saints, turn out to be elite despite the failure of scouts to see the potential. To me, it's not unlike preseason rankings, which I admit often plays out as expected, but unworthy of the drama, overall, in my opinion.

We don't need to wait on this guy while pushing any possible "Etienne's" away. We should recruit at least one other 3-4* RB just in case.
