I don't think a freshman will start next year. Too much of a learning curve from HS to College ball. However, if anyone can beat out Etling, this just makes us that much stronger. Although I don't see that happening. Canada should make the difference, regardless of the QB.

Harris was #2 on ESPN, #3 on 247. Narcisse & Harris had almost identical stats. Narcisse played as a FR & Soph & had 58 Passing TDs, 26 Rushing TDs and ~8,000 yds of total Offense. Harris as a Jr and Sr had 60 TDs Passing, 27 TDs Rushing, and ~8,000 yds of Total Offense. Starting only 1 ill-fated game under center, Harris still finished the 2014 season with a 175 Passer rating, highest in the SEC and 2nd highest in the nation behind Mariotta and Watson for QBs with more than 25 attempts. Prior to AUB, from the spread, he led scoring drives on 13 of 18 possessions and had 6 TDs passing, 3 rushing, in less than 60 minutes of Playing Time for 3X higher Scoring Efficiency than Oregon & Mariotta. DTQBs think faster, throw better on the run, and are strong runners. Teams with DTQBs used in the shotgun, with 4 WRs spreading the field, open the entire field for the Running & Passing game by forcing 1 on 1 coverage and leaving a 12th Gap uncovered: Hurts at ALA, Watson, at CLEM, Ward at Houston. Spread, Tempo, HUNH, & the RPO threat spreads the Defense, does not let them rest or sub, and puts them at a numbers disadvantage. Remembering that Landry & Beckham said "we could not protect Mett and keep him off the ground", Pocket Passers require a phenomenal pass blocking OL, something only ALA has in the SEC. In the last 5 yrs, of the 47 1st Round Draft Picks from the SEC, the only QB was Manziel. A running back by committee team like LSU does not excel at Pass Blocking and when it comes to ALA add in run blocking too. There are no Multiple Offenses in FBS and only a couple in the NFL. You have to keep it simple enough that FR QBs like Hurts, Manziel, Winston, Tebow, Newton, and even 3rd string Cardale Jones can win Heismans & NCs.

Multiple Offense was one of Les & Cam's misnomers for lack of offensive identity. Saban/Kiffen just won 3 consecutive SEC Championships and a CFPNC with three diverse QBs: Sims, Coker, Hurts. Saban does what every winning Coach at any level does, he builds his Offense around the skills of his QB. BTW Kiffen never ran a HUNH until Saban picked it up from his buddy Dabo. Kiffen did what he was told to do and was on a short leash. LSU has mortgaged the future of every QB, WR, and Offensive skill player by lining up Slooowly in a predictable formation and making everyone block for LF & his Heisman campaign. It was terrible for LF and unbearable for his "Savages". Everybody loses when you forgo Tempo/Spread/Misdirection/RPO. CLEM, Ohio State, Hou, ALA are all vertically integrated and aligned in philosophy from the AD/Chancellor to the lowest assistants. I wish the LSU Staff well but I have no confidence in Alleva from Duke when he sacrificed players and a Coach of the Year to save his hide. Back to the Dual Threat QBs...anything Less would be out-of-date. Stop tackling in practice, use the concussion monitors, no more Targeting Practice in the Big Cat Drill - seeing Harris carrying a football run over Adams was verification that if Harris & Watson changed places, Harris would have a NC. He is faster than Watson and has the better arm. Tempo, rhythm, and ranking above 120th in Pass Atts is sort of a prerequisite for building a passing game rather than stat padding LF whiled he steamrolls JVS/Southern Miss/Mizzou cupcakes and then calling on Harris or ForgEtling when the run game stalls vs Ranked Opponents. Narcisse has Dak Prescot's build..good get.

After his recruitment I asked the question why they kept putting BH under center instead of from the gun

You can never have too many options at qb. Injuries, poor play, off field issues etc. So come on Lowell and compete. I think once Canada works with Etling he will take him to the next level and he's your starter next season. Senior leadership is invaluable, and he looks like he could perform very well with Canada calling the plays. Having Brennan, Narcisse,Scott and McMillan is a good option to have for a change!

Etling had 9 TDs, an all-time low, and he played against some really weak teams. Frank Wilson did better vs Southern Miss with his 100th ranked UTSA team in his 1st yr than LSU with a #2 Roster. I would not expect Etling to be the starter. He is not going to beat AUB & ALA and TAMU, Ole Miss, FLA, MSST, & ARK are on the rise. It was a down year and LSU could easily end up 7-5 and unranked. How do you think he will compare in the scoring Brawl vs Lamar Jackson hyped up on his Heisman?

Auburn must have informed him that they aren't interested. Nice pickup either way. I still think that Brennan will have better success in Canada's scheme. Not a race thing. I'm black. I just want the best players on the field. IMO, that is Brennan. Brennan has a little mobility as well. He isn't as mobile as Narcisse, but his passing ability is light-years beyond Narcisse. Just my opinion though. We'll see soon enough who Canada fields.

@Mouche337 I agree. It all depends on Canada's O. I hope the Tiger fans don't turn this into a black/white thing. HOWEVER, which ever guy is the backup will be the fan favorite. LOL

Less than six months after suffering a torn ACL in his junior season at Georgia, Todd Gurley walked across the NFL draft stage as the No. 10 overall pick of the Rams. FWIW we recruited Kwon Alexander with a torn ACL & how did that work out?

Oh man...more bad news for the hate Coach O crowd. Indeed, they want him to fail so bad, they can taste it.

The same way the hate Coach Miles crowd was Space Cowboy. There seems to be a large portion of this fanbase that insists on being unhappy no matter what.

I thought the doubters were happy with O after the hiring of Canada and the commitment of Brennan, Rice and Guidry among others. Our class ranking after Narcisse is now up to #4 by 247 Sports. Looking pretty good to me.
