Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff landed a big-time commitment on Wednesday from four-star offensive tackle Garrett Dellinger.

Dellinger, a 6-6, 275-pound prospect from Clarkston, Michigan chose the Tigers over Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State.
quote:

"I had four great universities to choose from but I'm going to be committing to the LSU Tigers," Dellinger said in his announcement video.

"I want to play against teams like Alabama, Auburn, Georiga, all those teams every day. Not just watch them, but play them."

"I just had a different feeling around LSU than I did anywhere else. Coach Cregg was a major factor in my decision. When I went on the visit, just seeing how he interacted with the players, my family, all the recruits... I could just tell he was the coach I wanted to play for. He's a great person and a great coach."

"And the same thing with Coach O... when I was talking to him, seeing his energy, talking about football, I just wanted to go play right then and there."

Dellinger is rated the No. 6 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 2 overall player from the state of Michigan for the class of 2021, according to ESPN.

The Tigers now have 12 verbal commits for the class of 2021.

To pull a kid from the midwest from traditional lineman schools like Penn State Ohio State and Michigan is definitely huge

You sell tickets with the playmakers, but you win national titles with the big uglies. Especially important pick-up for LSU, since our state doesn't usually produce a ton of quality OL talent.
