Zadock Dinkelmann, a four-star quarterback for the class of 2018, announced Tuesday that he has decommitted from LSU.

The 6-5, 215-pound pro-style quarterback from Somerset, TX committed to the Tigers in February of 2014 when he was just 14-years old and still in middle school.

Dear colleges, please stop recruiting babies. At least wait until they're older.

He was never coming here. What douche commits at 14

It makes no sense for an 8th grader to be committed anyway.

You cannot play QB in he SEC with that name.

I'm sure the melt will be strong, but whatever. He either wants to be here next year or he doesn't. The program is bigger than one player. Besides, the two QBs this year could be better. Perhaps he thinks the same. All that said, 13 months is a long time, especially for a high school kid.

Oh well. This is what happens when kids commit at a young age.

I wouldn't accept commitments from anything less than a junior. They never pan out when they make a life decision at 13-14 years old. They are children.

I wish the kid luck. He committed to Les and Cam. They're gone now. He has every right to look out for his own best interests. That said, I hope he doesn't go to another SEC school, especially that one in northern Alabama.

Seriously, do we really want a qb named Dinkleman leading our team?

Seriously, does it really matter what the kid's name is? I personally could care less what what a recruits name is. He could be named Chief Dirty Bottom of the No Wipe-um Tribe as far as I'm concerned.

It just can't be a good thing that grown men are recruiting/offering 7th & 8th graders. I won't say anything about the parents, but Good Lord! It's a sad situation we find ourselves in today! I reluctantly do recall, however, that is how Dale got Shaq to LSU.

" that is how Dale got Shaq to LSU." I had actually forgotten about that...

Why cant it be good? Why is it sad?

Shaq was a different creature all together. Dale stayed in contact with he and his family and Shaq was a military brat true to his word

absolutely dumb to offer an 8th grader. has any 8th grade commit stay with a school and sign after 5 years? I remember when this kid committed. I chuckled on the inside. If a kid and a school want to make it official in 8th grade, then they should allow papers to be signed at that time. I bet that immediately scares both parties away from this ignorance

I don't know that it's dumb to offer an 8th grader, but it's dumb to expect a commitment from an 8th grader to stick.

Didn't Leonard Fournette commit after being offered in the 8th grade?

I guess he came to the realization that he can't play with the big boys.

He was a Cam Cameron guy. No Cam, no Zadock. I guess he see's the writing on the wall with Brennan coming in and didn't want to buckle it up and compete for a job. Any QB that is scared of competition is not LSU caliber............

That being said, I don't like losing a big 4 star Pro-Style QB that can throw the football. Far too few of those around here lately.....................

Totally forgot about that guy. He doesn't appear to have a chest.

The only QB I felt we HAD to get was Brennan. As long as we have Brennan we set for the next 4 years at QB. Brennan is THAT legit.

14 is too young to commit. He needs to take recruiting trips and get laid as much as possible. Maybe get a couple grand and some swag out of it too.

No, Earl Keese. It doesn't matter what the kids name is. Just having a little fun with it. My name has been butchered for years and I laugh it off. There are far worse names in athletics these days. As long as we have Brennan coming in, I couldn't care less about this kid's commitment(or lack of) right now. I'm sure the Tigers will survive with or without the Fighting Dinklemans of the world! Oops! I did it again! Sorry PC police!

That's cool Lexman. I didn't mean to sound shitty about it with my reply to your first post. The young man does have a very unusual name. Sometimes it's hard to determine who's trying to be funny and who's just flat being a jerk. It's all good friend.
