LSU enters their second game of the Legends Classic against the Jaguars of Southern Alabama after coasting to wins in the Tiger's first two games. This time, LSU will see much more size than they did in either of their first two games.

Projected Starting Lineups:

After being a very front court oriented team last season with two of the top three rebounders in the SEC, the Tigers have moved to a back court, perimeter oriented style of play. While it has been exciting and beneficial offensively, it has left a major question mark in the rebounding department.

In comes South Alabama who will start easily the tallest lineup LSU has seen this year. The Jaguars pulled down 18 offensive rebounds against NC State and 19 against Auburn Montgomery in their first two contest. It will be vital to LSU's defensive effort to try and reduce S Alabama's ability to get to the offensive glass.

LSU has used a center by committee of Elbert Robinson, Aaron Epps, Brian Bridgewater, and Darcy Malone. However, the Tigers have also tried rebounding with guards and point-forward Ben Simmons. However, LSU was outrebounded by 3 against a smaller Kennesaw St in their first Legends game.

Offensively, the Tigers have done well for themselves hitting over 40% of their three pointers and having an unbelievably efficient 38:18 assist to turnover ratio. They have had only 2% of their shots blocked this season (17th NCAA) and have run at a pace that is 34th fastest in the country.

While Blakeney leads the Tigers in scoring, Ben Simmons has been the cog that keeps this offensive machine running. His 5.5 assists per game leads the Tigers and was one rebound shy of his second straight double double in an impressive performance versus the Owls (22 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks, and 0 turnovers).

This is the final tuneup for the Tigers before heading to New York next week to take on Marquette and the winner/loser of NC State/Arizona State. LSU is the only team of the four that are still unscathed. Marquette (Belmont), Arizona St (Sacramento St), NC State (William & Mary) each fell victim to underdogs already this season.

Prediction:

LSU 1.12PPP
SAlabama 0.91PPP
Possessions 77

LSU 86, S Alabama 70

O I see. So they knock the price of the tickets down to $2 instead of $3.
