Sensational LSU point guard Tremont Waters was named to the coaches All-Southeastern Conference freshman on Tuesday. Per LSUSports.net:

Waters, coming off a 14 points, 10 assists game on Saturday against Mississippi State, averaged 15.6 points per game, 3.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists during the 30-game regular season. In the 18-SEC games, he averaged 14.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.

The New Haven, Connecticut product is second in the SEC in assists average and No. 1 (2.0) in steals average. He has set the freshman record for LSU in assists at 177 and counting and he is fifth for a single season in LSU history.

His 10 assists on Saturday marked the fifth time this season he has posted 10 or more assists in a game, topped by the 11 versus Arkansas on Feb. 3.
