ST. LOUIS, MO. -- The LSU men's basketball team cut a 16-point, halftime deficit to one but could not overcome the Mississippi State Bulldogs, eventually falling 80-77 in the Scottrade Center. With the loss, the Tigers fall to 17-14 on the year and 8-11 in conference while Mississippi State improves to 22-10 and 10-9 in the SEC.

Freshman Tremont Waters led the team with 28 points and six assists and hit a three-pointer to bring the Tigers within one with eight seconds left in the game.
