The LSU Athletic Hall of Fame Committee unanimously approved a proposal for a statue honoring basketball legend Pete Maravich be installed on campus. Per LSUSports.net:
quote:

Maravich, who passed away on January 5, 1988, is the all-time scoring leader in college basketball history with 3,667 points, an average of 44.2 points per game over three seasons (1967-68, 1968-69 and 1969-70). The LSU Assembly Center was re-named the Pete Maravich Assembly Center by the Louisiana Legislature shortly after his death.
Design and construction details of the statue will be announced in the coming months.
