Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports
LSU head coach Will Wade announced Wednesday that Jalyn Patterson would redshirt the 2017-18 season, his senior year, and will "explore his options for his future playing eligibility." Per LSUSports.net:
quote:

Patterson would have one season of eligibility remaining after his redshirt season. He is on pace to finish his coursework and receive his degree from LSU in May of 2018.

Patterson is from Atlanta, Georgia, and came to LSU from Montverde Academy in Florida prior to the 2014-15 season. Montverde won the national high school championship with Patterson on the floor in 2013 and 2014. In 2013, Patterson won the championship with a last-second bucket.

What a pussy. That kinda shite pisses me off. I'm glad he's not going to be on our team next season. We need to weed-out all of these johnny jones players and replace them with some real basketball players that want to play for this TEAM and win for LSU.

I'm fine with this. But, since he chose to sit out, I hope he also chooses to forego his scholarship and pay his own way for the next academic year. LSU offered to pay for his education for playing ball. He chose to not play, so he should pay.

10-21 doesn't require much effort. Chaging that culture is difficult and some players aren't going to make the adjustments. Best of luck to Patterson.
