LSU freshman shooting guard Antonio Blakeney announced on Twitter Friday afternoon that he will enter his name into the 2016 NBA Draft but will not hire an agent.

By not hiring an agent, Blakeney keeps his future options flexible.

A new rule allows college basketball players to retain their college eligibility but also participate in the NBA's pre-draft workouts. Blakeney can work out for teams and get feedback but if he hires an agent he will become a pro.

Blakeney, a freshman from Sarasota, Fla. averaged 12.6 points and 3.4 rebounds a game last season for the Tigers.

100% full support blakeney. Became My favorite player to watch this year on that squad. Play at the same level no matter the output! Sure hope he comes back though. Next season is a huge ? without him.

Yeah i wish this was an April fools joke. I think he can her drafted this year but i also believe he can be a lottery pick in one or two seasons.

Love Blakeney, and I hope it works out for him because he deserves so much better than this.

Tony. Dude. Ask Buddy Love what he thinks about the virtues of staying in school, especially in regard to a gifted shooter.

Say hello to another guy selling Direct TV contracts inside of Sam's in a few years. I would understand transferring, but this guy is not ready to be a pro...at least not in the NBA or D-League.

Just because Jaime Lloreda offered you a less than stellar deal at your local Best Buy, doesn't mean this will happen to Blakeny.

Stay in college. Intact is one word. Or perhaps you could ask this god person to help out with grammar.

JJ won't last the entire season. They will be lucky to win 10 games next year.

He should be gone this season. Lady two years have been talented upsets.

Making a good move Antonio. NCAA made it a new rule to test the waters as long as you dont hire an agent. So in my opinion why not use it. Dont settle for some late second round pick though, because you will get serious money one in a year or two.

The "test the waters" without hiring an agent rule has been around for a LONG time. The ability to work out for the teams is apparently what has changed.

Got my support... My favorite Tiger basketball player of all time! Good luck, Antonio.

I like Blakeney, I really do, but no one from this year's team makes my all time list.

I wish the best for the kid, whether that means getting drafted this year or coming back for another year. Some of you act like jilted lovers. The kid is exploring his options and I can't say that I can blame him. Geaux Tigers!

Honestly, the majority of the games we won late were because of Blakeney's clutch shooting. He has a higher ceiling than most people think.
