Cedric Russell, a three-star shooting guard from Alexandria, LA and LSU's lone commit for the 2017 class announced Monday that he will reopen his recruitment. Per Rivals.com:
quote:

Kirk told Rivals.com that LSU is still under consideration, but it is important to explore all options.

“As you get closer to actually getting on campus, you want to look at what’s a good basketball fit for you. Looking at that we decided that maybe we need to see some more options.

“He still loves LSU and he’s still considering them, but he wants to be out there and seeing that all of his options are available."

Let's just concede shittiness in hoops, and leave the whole stinking mess alone. TheBagMan ain't going anywhere, and we will continue to be looked upon as a third world country team. How You and Daddy Dale like him now Collis ? And by the way , if this is the kind of shooter we are recruiting, no wonder we are in the shape we're in. And the ticket sale renewals continue to roll in . NOT.

It is still a chance to play for the Louisiana State Fighting Tigers and compete against some of the best players in the nation. Was it crappy this year, yes. Could a group of players suddenly turn that around- undoubtedly. If.... IF we somehow keep Blakeney, we will be better

The best players from Louisiana could compete if we kept them all There's players starting across country from Louisiana for better teams than LSU

Supposedly getting Jones and having CT2 on board with the hire was going to fix this problem, but we've yet to see it.

I hate the fact that we as a Basketball school are a laughing stock. I as an LSU grad here in Austin take great pride being a fan of all sports LSU. Recently I had to almost pretend that I could care less about our basketball program as long as we compete in baseball in football. But that's bullshite I do care and am embarrassed as hell. Untell JJ and Fargus are ousted we are just hurting our future even more and competing the next 3-4 years.

After how terribly JJ handled this talented team, I am not surprised that recruits avoid him like the plague

Great decision by that kid. I would not want to anywhere near this coach or this program, especially when he has much better opportunities elsewhere.

This is a plus for LSU, the kid is a good player but this gives them a chance at a better player and go for more size down low, he can be replace easy.

Sure LSU isn't winning but he is getting players drafted though. Think that would be a selling point for high profile guys

They are getting drafted off off of talent. He has failed to develope anyone with skills they didnt have from day one as a Tiger.
