Many rumblings surfaced Monday afternoon that LSU freshman infielder Grayson Byrd from Milton, GA is leaving the Baseball program.

LSU beat writers Randy Rosetta and Ross Dellenger confirmed the news late Monday night via Twitter. Dellenger also reported and confirmed that sophomore infielder Danny Zardon will be leaving the program as well.

Both players were not guaranteed starting spots in 2016 and will be heading elsewhere to continue their baseball careers and education.

No players should be guaranteed a spot on the first string. Lots of things can change during the off season. Competition is not only the fair way to judge who should start...it's the right way. If players don't want to compete, best of luck to them elsewhere.

Wtf. How was Zardon not guaranteed a spot. His offense was gonna give him a spot. Am I missing something?

Both had potential. I was especially excited to see Zardon play next year. He has so much pop in his bat. Good luck to them.

So they wanted playing time? Didn't want to compete?
