Jim Callis with MLB.com has LSU junior shortshot Alex Bregman as the No. 7 prospect in his latest MLB Mock Draft.

7. Boston Red Sox
Alex Bregman, SS, Louisiana State

Boston's pecking order of players with a realistic chance of getting to this spot is Fulmer, Bregman and Benintendi. They could have had all three if they could have signed Fulmer (15th round) and Bregman (29th) out of high school three years ago.
ESPN.com MLB draft analyst Keith Law has Bregman going second overall to the Houston Astros.

I'd be surprised to see the Astros grab him. Once they call up shortstop Carlos Correa, which will probably happen before the end of the season, he'll be a fixture in the lineup for at least the next five years. And Jose Altuve has second base locked up for the near future.

Maybe the Astros draft Bregman and try him at third or play him at short if Correa can't handle short (he's 6-4).
