Per LSUSports.net: BATON ROUGE -- Drew Mendoza's RBI single in the 12th inning spoiled a brilliant performance by LSU reliever Devin Fontenot, as Florida State advanced to the College World Series, 5-4, on Sunday night.

LSU (40-26) saw its 2019 campaign come to an end despite rallying from three runs down twice and force extra innings. Florida State (41-21) will face either Arkansas or Ole Miss in its opening game of the CWS later this week.

Tough break for Fontenot as he pitched the game of his life and kept LSU in it.

Blinky the Leprechaun is a joke of a coach. He has to be the only coach to go 2 and BBQ 3 times as a Super Regional host.

Not sure why they didn’t walk Mendoza, but I’m sure the coaches had a good reason. That would have taken their best hitter out and also force them to start with the 5 hole rather than the 4 in the next inning.

Time for Scott Woodard to “Man up”. CPM has been out coached all too often. He has had top tier talent for the past 13 years and sings top tier excuses.

Missing bases? Fundamentally t-ball level = bad coaching..

The pick off on 3rd base summed up this LSU season. Coaches standing around and allowing players to make glaring errors which cost runs and games. I watched this play over several times and I still do not understand wtf the 3rd base coach was doing? Poor coaching. Plain and simple.
