Y’all need to lay off of Thompson. This years failures will teach him lots of things moving forward. He’ll get better because that’s who he is. Sorry to say it but this guy doesn’t just have his SS spot out the gate. It gives them both someone to compete with and sharpen their skills. Success is contagious as is failure. They can feed off of each other and if one goes down or isn’t playing good, we’ll now have a different option who is a veteran player. The other guy can play second. What this does is bring more quality depth to the field and another bat to the lineup. But just stop with the Thompson replacement nonsense. That isn’t why he was brought here and I know this for a fact. In fact Thompson will be given first shot at earning his position back but both will have to earn it. That’s why he was brought here and it’s smart by JJ. He knows Thompson is a competitor so this will ramp up his competitive gears and could turn one of them into a very special player.

If I am a high end recruit I must choose LSU. With Crews coming back, the level of attention from scouts is HHHUUUGGGEEE!!

Nah, I like it. "Boot up" should also stay, and be expanded beyond just basketball.

And I will trade him all day long for 2 elite starting pitchers.

You really should be in baseball front offices with that kind of next-level thinking.

I don't think that's how college sports work.

Can he field a simple ground ball? That’d be great for starters.

Wonder why all the down votes? Did nobody see how awful Thompson was in the field this year?

Cheeto, did you not notice his improvement as the season went on and that he had less errors as a freshman which shows he is capable of playing better than he did?

Yeah, but what was his fielding percentage??

0.966 with 8 errors which is the exact same as Jalen Battles from Arkansas, who is regarded as an elite defender.
Great pickup in the field and at the plate

@lsufan, I would think he's comparing him to Thompson, who sucks in th field.

For comparison's sake, Thompson had a 0.894 fielding percentage
