Former LSU baseball player Alex Bregman has agreed to a deal with the Houston Astros, who drafted him with the 2nd pick in the 2015 MLB Draft earlier this month. Per The Advocate:

Bregman, the No. 2 overall pick in the draft and a two-time All-American at LSU, landed in Houston on Wednesday morning and told MLB.com that he’ll sign with the Astros. A source said that Bregman has agreed to a signing bonus of $6 million.
Bregman told MLB.com that he “thinks” he might be introduced at the Astros’ game against the Yankees on Thursday at Minute Maid Park.

Congrats to Bregman! Glad the Tiger faithful will be able to follow him on TV once he makes it up through the minors. He plays lights-out SS, but I would love to see him playing second on the field with Altuve at short (or vice versa). That'd be a damn near impenetrable wall for anything hit between the lines.

I may have to start rooting for the Astros again. Just depends on how long he sits in the minors.
