ESPN Apparently Got Duped By A High School Football Program
© Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports
On Sunday, as part of this weekend’s GEICO ESPN High School Kickoff showcase, the network showed a game between national high school football powerhouse IMG Academy out of Bradenton (Fla.) and Bishop Sycamore from Columbus Ohio. IMG Academy is routinely one of the best teams in the country, boasting Division I recruits year-in and year-out. Bishop Sycamore, meanwhile, is a mysterious online charter school that has only existed for two years and has a considerably less loaded roster. Apparently, ESPN couldn't verify the reported scholarship offers for some of Bishop Sycamore's players and they sounded concerned for the them...

I agree with the coach that it is embarrassing to watch, but "someone's going to get hurt"?? LOL

The scores from last season aren’t really that bad. They’re whoopins, but nothing like Spurrier or CUM would run up

Looks like IMG played them last year. They knew this team was garbage.

What really sucks about this is that I think it's IMG's fault partially . I know for a fact that STM (Walker Howard) and IMG were in final stages of plans for playing this game. STM AD, K Broussard, said it fell apart for some reason on that end. I'm sure ESPN saw a woke opportunity to put this all black school as the opponent. There is NO WAY in HELL that espn found out during the game that the school sucked. Those announcers may have been lied to, but ESPN new exactly what they were doing

It definitely sucks that STM had to miss out because a school lied and ESPN failed to vet what they were saying. Someone needs to get fired for this at ESPN.
