NBC DFW reports that a high school in Dallas, Texas got a new $60 million dollar stadium that has 18,000 seats, a 75-by-45 foot HD video scoreboard, a weight room, a press room and even private boxes. The stadium was funded from a $119 million bond package approved by town voters in 2009. The Allen Eagles first game in their new home is August 31st. To top it all off this stadium is only the third largest high school arena in Texas. Wow. You can watch a video of the stadium here.

A less reported fact is that the district doen't have money to
fill all the open teacher positions.

If it is used for other purposes, it will be easier to stomach. I.e. soccer, graduation ceremonies, etc. With the lack of students for science and math skills for technical jobs, we are doomed in the future. Technology drives economy and power, not graduating poorly educated students. Why do we import so many Doctors and educated people from Asia? Because we dont have enough educated young people here.

My little sister goes to school there, it is not a district stadium, strictly for Allen High.
