On the morning of June 6 at the 2014 Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic, Alabama angler Deb Hebert reeled in an 843.7-pound (127.5 inches long and had a 74-inch girth) blue marlin. Jones told GulfLive.com...
quote:

Amazing, just amazing. The fish was hooked at 7 am (Friday) and I really didn't know if I was going to get it in or not. But about two hours into the fight, I decided that I was not going to quit.

I was pumped to say the least. After two hours of going back and forth, I was convinced I would land the fish.

[...]

My arms and legs are bruised, but that was amazing.

Larry,

You were on a roll. You have listened to the masses and started doing more babe stories. This article, however, was a mistake. It is only pseudo sports related and the girl is not pictured correctly.

She should be wearing only bikini bottoms and riding the dorsal fin of the marlin while covering her chest with a "hand bikini".

Since you decided to have her fully clothed alongside her father, I am disappoint.

Signed,

Larry's father.

Hebert, who is an Air Force flight surgeon and a marathon runner, has caught giant yellowfin tuna and released smaller marlin before now. But this is her largest catch yet and it’s the largest marlin ever weighed by a lady angler in the tournament’s 16-year history.

Iona Louise was fishing about 30 miles south of South Pass, Louisiana, in 2,250 feet of water near the Ewing Bank, when the marlin ate a live five-pound blackfin tuna off the starboard outrigger. The fish was caught on IGFA 80-pound line with a 300-pound leader. The crew had to wire the fish 15 times before they finally boated it.

I've seen one of those while hanging off of a lifeboat at the "Salsa" platform wiring a radio up. They are awesome and it sucks to see one hanging there for bragging rights.
