man, if that is NOT a balk, it's the closest move I've ever seen to a balk

It is against the rules for the pitcher to toe the rubber without the ball. Or at least it was when i played.

"Don't think you understand baseball.

As soon as he steps off the rubber (jumps in the air to his left, right foot comes off first) he can do w/e he wants."

Can you tell that to the umpire in the semifinal game of the game we lost in high school. Guy on 3rd base, left-handed pitcher. Guy starts running to steal home. Pitcher steps off the rubber, drops his hands, then throws home and is tagged out. Was called a balk by the home-plate ump, stated it was a simulated pitch.

"I have no problem with cheating"
It wasn't cheating. That's a long-used trick play.

"or using trick plays"
Yep, it was.

"but don't act like you won with any sort of honorable merit."
"Honorable merit"??? Where'd that come from? It's a baseball game, not a contest of "honorable merit" (although I challenge someone to define "honorable merit" as it pertains to a baseball game). There's nothing dishonorable in utilizing all the legal tools available to a team, including acts of deception and/or trick plays. It's the opponent's responsibility to be prepared for trick plays. Did you also complain about dishonor when Les Miles successfully executed the fake field goal against Florida?

I love it when some jerk says "you don't understand baseball" just because it didn't look to me like his foot came off the rubber

"Don't think that's legal"

Don't think you understand baseball.

As soon as he steps off the rubber (jumps in the air to his left, right foot comes off first) he can do w/e he wants. If he had lifted his left leg up and turned, as you see sometimes then he could not have faked the throw. But because he went with his right foot first. All is fair, he could of gone and stood in right field if he wanted.
