Report: Florida Has Fired Jim McElwain

The University of Florida announced Sunday afternoon that they have mutually agreed to part ways with coach Jim McElwain.
Randy Shannon will serve as interim coach throughout the remainder of the season. Per FloridaGators.com:
McElwain was 22-12 (16-8 SEC) overall during his time at Florida and won the SEC East the two season.

quote:The news comes less than 24-hours after the Gators 42-7 loss to Georgia on Saturday. It was Florida third straight loss and 4th overall this season.
"We want to thank Coach McElwain for his efforts in leading the Gator football program," said Stricklin. "We are confident Coach Shannon will provide the proper guidance to the players and rest of staff during this time and we will begin a national search for the next head coach."
