Could Florida's Jim McElwain Be A Candidate For The Oregon Job?
by TD Staff ReporterNovember 29, 2016

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports
Orgeron will likely be making a decision soon to part ways with current coach Mark Helfrich.
Candidates for the job could possibly be Penn State's James Franklin, North Carolina's Larry Fedora, Western Michigan’s P.J. Fleck, and Boise State’s Bryan Harsin.
Dan Wolken with USA TODAY Sports also mentioned Flordia's Jim McElwain as an option for the job.

There also are whispers that Florida’s Jim McElwain could be intrigued by the opportunity to return to the Pacific Northwest, close to where he went to college and started his coaching career at Eastern Washington. Despite winning SEC East titles in his first two years, McElwain has been a bit under-appreciated by the Florida fan base and just got a new athletics director in Gainesville.

I suppose he could be, but I can't think of any good reason he'd take that job.

Send him packing. 54 to 16 against Alabama. Joke of a game plan. Send Nuss out too. what an embarrassing game for the Gator nation.

We could only hope that he takes it. Thank God that AD Foley has retired. He's been the problem for years. Nuss should definitely be dismissed at the very least. Just had to sit an watch the Gators get their butts handed to them by Alabama. 54 to 16, 3 interceptions by Appleby. Really, a 5th year QB that played for Purdue??? what was the coaching staff thinking recruiting this guy. Alabama had Hurts, freshman QB running circles around our team. If McElwain can't recruit better than this, we need him to get packing!
