ESPN is reporting that Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien has joined Bill Belichick's staff in New England as his new OC.
The Massachusetts native will return to the Patriots, where he was on staff from 2007-2011. He will also reunite with quarterback Mac Jones.
O'Brien's departure means Nick Saban will be hiring his sixth different offensive coordinator in the last eight seasons. Saban will also need to find a replacement for defensive coordinator Pete Golding who recently took the Ole Miss DC job.
