That’s all you had to say.

See, it isn’t hard to give an opinion & not ride the fence, right bill?

You realize there have been other coaches that have won, lost, and won again, right? Or are you just that simple minded to have to compare him to Ed Orgeron?

that’s dumb.

1. Ed Orgeron whole
pitch was “hire me, I will keep all the good things going and fix the offense” he was RC a couple of years and then Interim in 2017. So he had a running start.

2. The wheels were
coming off in year 4 and 5 if you DONT include the interim year. at that point he had made like 4 bad OC hires.

3. Orgeron had NO prior success and had actually been a monster failure at his prior job.

Where are these coaches that win national titles without elite talent?
I see lsu posters always using this narrative to shite on a coaches' accomplishments.

Please show me these coaches winning national titles without talent.

I would agree but I don’t think PM pulls Skenes away for his last year. Other than that probably but also we don’t win diddly without Skenes.

Ah, perhaps some of my law school professors may have thought I was a bit simple-minded, and maybe my ex-wife, but that's their cross to shoulder.

I compared his record/track at LSU to that of Orgeron as a head coach here, and they are very similar in terms of championships followed by dramatic downturns. There is no disputing that

I said it was up to him to change that trend. I didn't compare him to Cousin Eddie, but I did compare the present path of his tenure to that of Orgeron's. They're very much alike, though neither of us (nor anyone else) know what lies ahead.

Any attempt at forecasting his future success is just as futile as forecasting his future failure. Even a simpleton can comprehend that.

How many lefties are on the roster or recruited when Johnson took over? I’ll answer that zero.
EVERY PITCHER THAT WIN IN Omaha last year except for one was a Johnson recruit or signing. Look at the bullpen. Cooper was arguably the MVP of the college World Series.
I’ll play along though…
This is JUST PITCHING:
Skenes
Cooper
Hurd
Ack
Herring

Others that were committed and or Johnson had to recruit to keep commitment:
White
Jobert
Guidry
Hell - Beloso was gonna quit based on how bad he slid and Johnson begged him to stay.
I don’t know where some of you people come from.

Bill this is why some of us do know

Elite recruiter
Elite in portal
Hires elite coaches
Is very clearly not complacent like coach O

As bad as they have been this year they are still very close

Yea we ah ent had many breaks go our way this year. Some of that falls on our players some on JJ and some is just plain bad luck.

We probably should have 4 more wins currently than we do.

The O comparisons are way out there since like you said LE, elite recruiter, elite in portal even this year Jump and Holman have been good the others haven’t worked as well.

JJ will likely bounce back and after his next nc I bet we don’t fall off like this.

We’ve lost 9 SEC games by 1 or 2 runs. Flip less than half of those (4) and we’re going into the final weekend talking about possibly hosting a regional. Now good teams are able to win close games more often than not and we need to examine why we have haven’t been able to close them out and what we can do better or differently.

Heck it’s going to take a miracle for Florida to make a regional too.

Why is he top tier? Because he won a CWS? Does that make Mike Bianco a top tier coach? How about Chris Lemonis?

3 years is ample time for a new head coach to bring his guys in and cover any deficiencies from the previous coach. Especially in the transfer portal era.

Let’s be real though. Jay was hired in June 2021

that entire 2021 class had signed. and not just that, all the other prospects had too.

the LSU 2020 and 2021 classes had no presence this year. 2020 because it was so good 2021 because it stank.

and Jay did a lot to make up for it, but it’s hard to put an entire SEC roster
together through transfers.

you need program guys.

We lost some of those 1 run games in a fashion that our teams use to win by the other team doing shite like throwing into right.

Razor thin margin of this team hosting vs being at home

Yes like Skenes, Cooper, Ack, White (who led the country in RBIs), I can keep going.

These are nothing but CPM dick riders or trolls that come up with these threads.

Look, do I think Johnson had coaching mistakes this year especially around pitching and fundamental hitting? Yep.
He stated before the season that we would see a different type of hitting club and that never happened. His team couldn’t bunt to save their collective lives. I believe that is directly on his lack of giving a shite about some of the fundamentals of baseball for his OPS analytics driven world. The issue is like MLB is learning, when you don’t have those contact hitters or guys that walk a lot or when you face good to great pitching, all your analytics fly out the window.
The golf quote fits “You drive for the show. You putt for the dough.”
I hate how fundamentally poor teams are these days.
