Thanks guys. Very helpful. Looks like the $60 to $70 price range would have all the features he would ever need. I appreciate the help!...

Backpack tackle box

My 15 yr old grandson is asking for a backpack tackle box for his birthday. I have zero experience with this. Can any of you guys recommend one? He fishes a couple of farm ponds off the beaten path (with permission) and this does seem to be reasonable....

Would someone please post the youth hunt days for area 1 duck and deer? Waded through LDWF web site and can't find it....

ID @ Dicks

Posted by LSUPROUD on 2/28/13 at 4:34 pm
Yesterday I purchased a cheap, cheap bow at Dicks. Just something for my five yr. old grandson to play with over the week-end. I think it's called a " Lil Sioux." I get to the check-out and this kid says, "That's a weapon. I need to see your ID." I mean this is a bow that looks like it has waxed kni...

Ok. I got into the bolt, cleaned and lubricated the spring and all components (not many there). I'm shooting a Winchester Round. The one's that do fire have a deep cavitation on the primer. The one's that don't have just a dimple. I would assume that if it was the ammo that I would be seeing the sam...

I suppose my question is: Can you get inside the bolt to the actual firing pin and is that necessary? Any other ideas of what is making this pin weak is welcome. You're right about it being a Mossberg, but my grandson was seven years old at the time and the gun was cheap. ...

Need Rifle help

Posted by LSUPROUD on 1/25/13 at 8:59 am
Two years ago I bought my grandson a Mossberg ATR bolt action 243. I keep it at my house and it's been fired very little. He has killed two deer with it and up until this year it has been very dependable. The problem: The firing pen is not punching the primer with enough force to fire. It will occ...

Went out yesterday afternoon with a portable pressure washer. Had a 25 gallon tank we dumped six gallons of clorox mixed with 19 gallons of water. After spraying everythjing down and ruining a shirt and pair of pants we emptied six boxes of baking soda into a five gallon bucket of water and scrubbed...

Buzzards in my box stand -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is it just me, or does "Buzzards in my box stand" sound like the beginning of a really kick as OB poem? Not a "roses are red, violets are blue" type of poem, but something along the lines of...

It's a box stand with four windows. We had roll down screens over each window, but somehow those got torn off. If you've never had this you can't imagine the odor. Gag a maggot and burns your eyes like ammonia. Bad....

Buzzards in my box stand

Just routine maintenance and cleaning out deer stands this week-end and found where buzzards have been roosting in one of our best stands. The stench is overwhelming. Buzzard crap everywhere. Any recommendation on what to do to kill the smell? I mean this stink will literally make you sick....

For those of you in the know: What size hook do you recommend for taking gators? I heard that a 14 would likely puncture a lung, but less than that seems too small. Setting out lines this afternoon and would appreciate some feedback. ...

re: Quit Claim Deed

Thanks everyone. Looks like the best course of action is to keep on looking for an heir. Not trying to beat anyone out of anything. Would love to pay whoever is a legitimate heir market value for an undivded interest....
No succession has been done in 3-4 generations, and the heirs are scattered to the wind, if you can even figure out who they are.
] So, based on this, do you guys think a quit claim deed could help ultimately uncloud this mess?...

The guy thats currently paying the taxes on the whole tract inherited his interest from his father who is now deceased. His dad purchased the undivided interest from an heir back in the '60s. As far as we can tell there were two original heirs (in California) who were born in the late 20th century. ...
