Most of your small local races a 17 or 18 minute 5k will get top 3 overall. I run alot of races so I have a good idea. You will see a couple 15 or 16 minute times in bigger races. Trying to get your time under 18 minutes is hard work....

18:08 5k 38:21 10k 1:23 Half Marathon 3:14 Full Marathon I been trying to break into the 17 minute range for a couple months. I log about 65 miles a week though. My main focus is trying to get under 3 hours for the marathon distance....

I'm in marathon training for Chicago right now. I usually average between 55-65 mpw. I usually run two speed workouts through the week. The rest of my runs are about 1 minute slower than marathon pace or slower....
