re: Human Gene Therapy - RockCityHog on 5/22/14 at 10:26 am
We try to be very optimistic about it but knowing its terminal still doesnt help. They made lots of progress and the life expectancy is around 37 now but thats still not good enough for my son! We will continue to fight for him and give him every opportunity we can to live a normal life. We hope he...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Human Gene Therapy - RockCityHog on 5/22/14 at 7:56 am
The other sad part about all this is that large drug companies and research firms are really only focused on a few cases. They dont spend anytime researchiing specific cases like yours, or my son's, who has Cystic Fibrosis. Thankfully the CF Foundation does their own and have made huge strides in ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Human Genetic Modification.....Good or Bad? - RockCityHog on 4/22/14 at 10:28 am
Its huge news for lots of reasons. My son was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease, and so far there is no cure. There have been lots of progress made through research and clinical trials but more has to be done. Something like this could fix the genetic mutation and make his CF go away. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: "Crying it out" with an infant - OT Parents, how was your first experience? - RockCityHog on 4/2/14 at 8:02 am
Just now seeing this thread but my wife and I just went through this with our 6 month old. We tried cry it out for about 16 days and it never seemed to work. We held firm with our bedtime routine and everything and were still getting little to no sleep. That all changed one night when i decided t...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Will Vanderbilt players go union? - RockCityHog on 3/27/14 at 9:47 am
Also, Tenner is a right-to-work state which would make it very difficult to form a union. Even if one did form it wouldn't be very powerful becuase it would like the participation needed. It would affect public universities in the sense that in the eyes of the NCAA all scholarships are equal. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

Any OT parents have kids with CF - RockCityHog on 10/4/13 at 12:17 pm
or any close family members with CF (cystic fibrosis)? The wife and I found out yesterday that our 2 week old has CF. We were a little shocked at first, but after meeting with his team of specialist we feel much more comfortable with the diagnosis. It is what it is and we just have to find a way to...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (8)
Another reason dogs are better than people. - RockCityHog on 9/13/13 at 8:34 am
They know who's good and who isn't. If your dog is great around people but leary of others, you should be leary of those people as well! http://news.yahoo.com/dog-helps-alert-parents-to-abusive-babysitter-164358493.html ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (6)
re: Best aftershave solution for irritated skin? - RockCityHog on 9/12/13 at 9:26 am
I recommend shaving in the shower. This may sound weird but the best thing i've found to help with skin irritation is.....Witch hazel! Its an old remedy but it works like a champ. Dry your skin and then apply with a cotton ball or wash cloth. It has a slight burn but it works....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

If he does go to Texas you can pretty much guarantee Texas the favorite to win Crystal multiple times. They'll be the next Bama. He won't have to hardly recruit and will get his pick of top tier athletes! Somebody needs to hire him before Texas, Miami, or UCLA gets him....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
re: Improper benefits scenario question - RockCityHog on 8/28/13 at 4:42 pm
I mean its a beautiful scheme. You get said player suspended for the game against your team and get the W, possibly. It wouldn't take much of an investment to do it either. Maybe max $200-$300. You could go over the top if you wanted to. Maybe even go so far as to actually not be a booster at t...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Improper benefits scenario question - RockCityHog on 8/28/13 at 4:31 pm
Serious question: What is to prevent a fan of one school from donating money to another school(becoming a booster)and buying meals for kids on other teams or sending them gifts or cash, and then turning them in for NCAA violations? Then you could possibly get a kid suspended for a couple games o...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
re: Two days in Little Rock, what to do? - RockCityHog on 8/26/13 at 4:30 pm
I live in North Little Rock and i enjoy watching games at Gusano's in the River Market or Buffalo Wild Wings. There's a great trail system for running/biking right on the river. You may also be able to catch a baseball game at Dickey Stephens Park (great scenery) in NLR and grab a beer or Jameson a...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

Gran Bahia Ambar! Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! The wife and I had a blast. Its the adults only side of the larger resort, and its strictly enforsed. We saw them ask several people to leave that came from the regular side. Pretty funny. Its an all inclusive as well! Watch out for the naked E...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Have you ever committed an NCAA violation? - RockCityHog on 8/20/13 at 12:41 pm
I have. I was a season ticket holder and a buddy of mine played for the UofA. I used to give him and some other players rides back to our hometown during holidays and weekends without asking for compensation. My buddy's parents would give me money from time to time but the other 2 never did. NCAA...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
