re: Advice for Boston - floordulee
Had a great time as a Boston newbie. Thanks for all of the advice. Was able to see two American 5k road racing records broken on Saturday morning at the BAA 5k. Caught the latter half of the Freedom Trail (Old North Church, USS Constitution, Bunker Hill) and had lunch at a little Italian place in...

Advice for Boston - floordulee
I'm taking my wife to Boston for five days, leaving on Friday. I'm wondering if someone who's been before can suggest places to check out. I've heard that the Science Museum, Freedom Trail, marina, and JFK Library are all interesting. Also heard that the Harpoon Brewery tour is better than the Sam A...

re: Vegas on a Budget---Is it Doable? - floordulee
I just returned from a weekend trip. Hike the Red Rock Conservation Area. Very nice and a twenty minute drive from the Strip. Also, check out kayaklasvegas.com and kayak down the Colorado River, the water is very clear and canyons are beautiful. I saw five bald eagles flying around. You can either g...

re: OT Fitness Gurus; Swimming Vs. Running? - floordulee
If you've got a knee injury and aren't already a dedicated swimmer, then you'll likely end up learning bad form in the pool by compensating for your injury. That being said, you will still get a great workout....

re: OT Runners who've had Plantars - floordulee
Don't run until the pain goes away completely and then continue to rest it for a couple more weeks, as it's still healing. You can cross-train or slowly jog while healing....

re: OT cyclists, beginner bike? - floordulee
I've got a Raleigh Revenio 1.0, it's a nice beginners road bike, that I don't ride anymore since I bought a used tri bike. It's got a computer and clip-in pedals, and in like new condition, less than two years old. I'm 6'1, and it'll fit you. $400...

re: How early can autism be diagnosed? - floordulee
Thanks for the support. It's always nice to see that there are people who understand, as many just attribute it to an overdiagnosed fictitious problem that's really caused by bad parenting. *Cheers*...

re: How early can autism be diagnosed? - floordulee
It's been mentioned, but she WANTS to be in a social setting. She's just very rough and clumsy, but also very loving. Whether it's high-functioning autism or Asperger's, it really doesn't matter so much as it's a behavioral disorder that 95% of the population just doesn't understand why she does the...

re: How early can autism be diagnosed? - floordulee
My daughter is 6 and was professionally diagnosed with autism as she turned 2. I was seeing signs of it at 9 months old. She didn't want to be comforted or wouldn't look you in the eye, stacked or lined up toys instead of playing with them, flapped hands alot, and didn't want to play in a social set...

re: Iliotibial Band Syndrome - floordulee
That's exactly how my knee(s) felt from November until the beginning of February. Moderate exercise is the key. No running, no strenuous cycling, etc. If you've got access to a pool, then swim. Take a 10oz paper cup and fill it almost to the top with water and freeze. Remove the block of ice from t...
