re: Will be going to Bourgne next week
Posted by TheOtherOne on 1/31/12 at 2:24 pm
I went to Borgne a couple weeks ago. I had the oyster spaghetti which was simple but very well done.
The duck poppers were definitely a must.
Someone at the table orded the stuffed flounder and she pretty much devoured the whole thing. I guess that is a good sign?

Such thing as a 3 hour Osso Bucco?
Posted by TheOtherOne on 1/10/12 at 9:58 am
Is it possible to make a really good Osso Bucco in less time than 6-8 hours?
I have a slow cooker and want to experiment on a 3-4 hour version of Osso Bucco.
Anyone have any suggestions/recipes I could play with?
TIA...

To get off burgers ad back onto the thread, I agree with most of these.
As some people mentioned, Ruby Slipper, Katie's and Venezia's should be on here.
OP mentioned Cafe NOMA was D Brennen, it's Ralph Brennan.
I grew up on the same block as Mandina's and now live 2 blocks away. The food is...

I'm at the Bulldog in Mid-City a lot. I got at least once a week.
I walk my dog over there and when it isn't crowded they occasionally let me go in the back patio and close the gate and let him run around.
I live closer to Finn's and I know I can bring my dog there (I have a couple of times),...

Chico is a great guy and I was so shocked to hear what happened to him. I love seeing how the LSU community is stepping up for him

re: Best thin crust pizza in Nola?

Thye LA Pizza Kitchen on Carrollton is still open. I ate there about a month ago.
My vote is the POTA at Theo's as best pizza though.
Had Slice Monday. Better topping selection there, but the crust is better at Theo's....

I bought it from Rouses for Endymion last year. It was pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it again.
It's definitely a fun novelty to fool around with. And yes, it was a lot more potent than you would expect....

Heritage Grill (Ralph Brennan's Chop's replacement)
Posted by TheOtherOne on 4/5/11 at 3:04 pm
Went for lunch today. Pretty much a combo of all the other RBRG restaurant items with a couple new things that will probably be at Cafe B.
It was fast and very well priced. I think it's a good replacement. ...

Yea, but I was planning on walking. I figure Oak St. Cafe serves it, but I go there all the time and don't remember seeing a red bean special. Then again, I probably don't go on Monday's very often......
