re: Hardwood floors: engineered or lock & fold? - JoeDirt
till a pretty big difference...really nice laminate is generally about $3 a sq ft. What would real wood start at...$6 a sq ft??
Most of what I know about cost is on the wholesale level. But I would think the difference might be a little tighter than that if you shopped the prod...

re: Hardwood floors: engineered or lock & fold? - JoeDirt
Contrary to the above post- engineered wood floors are not exactly fake wood floors. Depending on the quality, engineered products are 3 to 5 cross layers of wood with solid venier tops of varying thickness... and I would venture to say that the majority of every wood floor most of us have ever see...

re: im looking for granite countertops - JoeDirt
bring rough measurements to a granite yard and ask the salesperson to figure your job with drop pieces... Drop pieces are "uncut" slab left overs from previous jobs. Most companies have already made their "profit" on the drop pieces and are willing to make very good deals on them just to free up in...

re: Student Athletes Receive Degrees - JoeDirt
So how about giving a round of applause to all of the LSU student athletes who received their college degrees yesterday?
Not really trying to be a dick, but I am guessing you never had any classes with football players. It sounds good on the surface and I can live with the fac...

re: Bose Speakers - JoeDirt
I think I have what you are talking about. 2 speakers with the subwoofer??? If so I broke mine down, bought a separate subwoofer and attached two bose bookshelfs and a bose center speaker to a onkyo reciever for an adhoc 5.1 system. At first I thought it was awesome, but with any surround sound...

re: Wood floors..... Hard to put down? - JoeDirt
Leave the tiles down. No reason for them to come up unless they are buckling. Less work and they will act as a secondary moisture barrier....

re: Wood floors..... Hard to put down? - JoeDirt
Wood Floors are not difficult to install... but if you do not know what you are doing, or do not have anyone to help who knows what they are doing... DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF. Especially in a main room such as your kitchen. ...

re: Taco Burrito Express - JoeDirt
the odds of getting a great meal there seem to far outweigh the odds of getting a taco you won't like.
No offense Afreaux, but we are not talking about me just having a taco I did not like... we are talking about me being served absolute rancid food. I have no doubt that 20 peop...

re: Taco Burrito Express - JoeDirt
Probably... I am sure the rice was old. it was very dry and just had a horrible taste. The beans are what smelled- so i did not even taste them. The steak in the taco's was just nasty... not even sure how to describe it. Very stringy and I bit into something hard (soft taco). Could no...

Afreaux- Thanks for the heads up... I had the steak tacos today. This place is legit. Had Ninfa's twice last week and the taco's I had today blew both meals from ninfa's out of the water....
