I've provided many more concrete facts here than you have though. I've linked my exact plan so you can see exactly what I'm talking about. You are the one spouting off numbers and claims without any sort of proof. You won't even link your plan from the website you provided. Nobody else has for t...

re: This link is provided as a service for all the ACA increasing premium Deniers... - Vale
Yeah a sweetheart deal. My 270 a month plan didn't cover me for maternal care (I'm a dude). It was, like I said, for all intents and purposes a catastrophic plan that was never going to cover anything unless I had a major illness. The fact that I had to pay 270 for that while a family of 5 was ...
Mine for my family of five went from $432 a month to $1055 a month and my deductible went up.
I just saw this. It seriously pisses me off that the cheapest private plan I could get had me paying 270 a month for crap coverage that I almost never used while a family of five got cov...
Have you checked out the network? Do you know which services, procedures, and drugs that are no longer covered?
To be fair, my insurance pre January 1 was complete drivel, for all intents and purposes a catastrophic type plan of plan that was costing me 270 a month and covering essen...
Did you deductible go up?
Sorry for the slow replies, I don't check here too often and forgot I had posted. No, my insurance after Jan 1 is better in every measurable way than before except my pcp changed. I don't like my new pcp as much as my old one but I'm the type of perso...

re: This link is provided as a service for all the ACA increasing premium Deniers... - Vale
I assume this post is supposed to be sarcasm, but speaking personally I have $85 a month more in my pocket as a result of the Humana Gold plan I picked up after the ACA came into effect. No subsidy, but my premium dropped 43 a month and my prescription costs dropped around 40 a month as well. ...

re: Just received my BCBS insurance rate increase... - Vale
Browsing the plans is completely anonymous and unless you want to get a subsidy you can just enter in the most generic information (family ages and location) then just call the provider directly. Honestly, unless you live in the podunks, I doubt the rate you are being quoted is even remotely clos...

re: Just received my BCBS insurance rate increase... - Vale
I don't know where you are in Texas Tim, but my rates went from 270 a month to 227 (no subsidy as income >100k) a month switching to an infinitely better Humana gold plan that I found through healthcare.gov. If you add in the reduction in prescription prices because of the change I will have 85 d...

re: In your opinion: should capping bandwidth be made illegal? - Vale
This is very true. You can get the gigabit plan discussed [link=(https://support.google.com/fiber/answer/3013418?hl=en&ref_topic=3034219)]here[/link] for 70$ a month if you live in the right place. If you live in a non-competitive market you can pay that price for 1/10th the service. Or if one ...

re: 10% of a poor person's salary... - Vale
Well, then you are not a taxing authority obviously. Just because you claim it in your name does not make it so. The lower your income, the higher percentage of your income you spend on goods and services. The higher percentage of your income that you spend on goods and services, the higher per...
I didn't realize those making >$100k don't pay sales, property. Payroll phases out. But so do the benefits.
For a "Taxing Authority" you don't seem to know much about taxation. Perhaps you should simply read the wikipedia article on regressive taxes. Their first example is sal...
i understand the reasoning, but it is more "fair" as everyone likes to say
Would really like an explanation of how this is more fair with the existence of the regressive property, sales and fica taxes?...

re: 10% of a poor person's salary... - Vale
You do understand that taxes like sales taxes, property taxes and payroll taxes are regressive by their nature right? If you look at tax paid as a percentage of income I guarantee you I, with an annual salary of about 100,000, paid a significantly higher percentage of my income in taxes than most p...

re: Mitt Romney's tax rate is actually about 50%... not 14%. - Vale
You should take some basic math courses before making a post like this. By the "logic" you are using, if Romney paid a 75% tax rate, his total tax would be 110% of his income....

re: The Real-World Middle Class Tax Rate: 75% - Vale
I just checked our tax returns from last year to verify what I knew. This entire premise is a complete lie. Last year we paid 11.8% as Federal income tax 5.8% as State income tax 3.2% as property tax 5.1% as our health insurance premiums I would consider us right in the middle of m...
