re: Golden nugget in Biloxi

We were there in February. It is cheaper than the Rivage, but the pool was CLOSED for remodeling when we were there. Double-check before you make a decision. Our room was very nice, but I don't think it is as nice as the BR....

I second the recommendation for Glacier Point, but don't think you'll be able to get there at this time of year. We were there in late June and the snow drifts were still huge. IF it is open, you can't miss Glacier Point. Also, Bridal Veil Falls and Yosemite Falls and a good view of El Capitan. ...

tires for campers

Posted by ByronClink on 2/16/14 at 7:14 pm
We have a 27' bumper pull camper that is due for tires. Those things run about $150 each, and what I'm reading online says they need to be replaced every 3-5 years. I've had some people tell me they are running regular passenger tires on their campers. What I'm reading online says the sidewall is...

I have picked up some Vidalia Onion/Poppyseed salad dressing that was very similar to the Subway Sweet Onion. ...

I just got my office computer back after 3 days of virus removal. IT guys said they had seen a dozen computers in the last week with the same Security 2012 virus. All of them had TigerDroppings in common. Just wanted to give you a heads up on it. They have anti virus stuff running on this machine, b...
So all of Baylor's facilities suck? Ever been on the campus? Not as big as LSU's facilities, but NICE baseball and softball complexes. Ferrell Center is a decent basketball venue. I guess I've missed LSU's rowing complex on the river. Floyd Casey only seats 50,000 and they don't have an indoor ...
They won those two at home and lost on the road. Coincidence? A and M released almost no tickets for that game to Baylor because they were pissed that Batlor fought them leaving Big 12. ...

My son is a Baylor freshman and he has been to some big LSU games. He said it was an awesome game in person. RG3 is a beast. ...

Sic em Bears. Glad to see them pull that out. ...
The Central story is online on Sportsline Friday night at about 24:50 into the show. That was a wild trick play, but it got the job done. Central has lost the last two to St Paul in close contests that went to the wire. 3rd time is a charm. ...
Central up 27-7. Just starting second half. ...
I haven't been, but a couple of people from the office say the food is very good. ...

Perhaps I should have said "all five of us were full when we left". Of course, that might not have ruled out commentary by some of you. ...

Doe's Eat Place

Posted by ByronClink on 6/18/11 at 10:01 pm
Took the family tonight. As usual, their salad didn't do much for us. The tamales were good. Steaks were great as usual, and the fries were tasty. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. 5 of us were full when we left. ...

I had this discussion with my dad yesterday. He lives in Cotter. Bull Shoals is discharging 55kcfs. The White River has 4 lakes dumping into it. It dumps into the Mississippi. Looks to me like the White River alone has as much water as we are diverting through the Morganza Spillway. Could be a long ...
You don't get out much, do you? Having said that, I've stopped at the one in Little Rock a couple of times while driving through, and I think I hit one in Shreveport a couple of years ago. Not too bad, but nothing to write home about....

I just left Vidalia. Without Hesco baskets, the Vidalia riverfront would be washed halfway to Baton Rouge by now. Nothing should be built inside the levee. ...
Senate debate or flood waters--take your pick. Both are getting deeper by the minute!...
Technically, they hope the river will get no higher than it will be on Monday, so that does constitute the crest. ...
