re: Recommend me some wool socks

Posted by SmokinJoe on 2/8/22 at 2:14 pm
I wore smartwool until I happened up on a pair of sheels brand wool socks. They have outlasted all the smartwool and other brand wool socks I own. Few pair are 5+ years old and worn in cycles of 6 months of the year. ...
And yet MSU will still beat that A&M arse ...

re: Rod Holders In The Bed Of Truck

Posted by SmokinJoe on 2/19/21 at 12:07 pm
I built one out of pvc that slides under my tool box. The rack is set at an angle that allow the rod tips to clear the top of the tail gate. I will slide a pool noodle over the rods so that if they slapped the tail gate it wouldn’t break the rods. I’ll see if I can find a pic of it. ...

Don’t think it’s necessary although I don’t have it under my porch, it’s under my detach and outdoor kitchen. Stained and sealed. ...

East central Mississippi. I’m here but not happy about it. This east wind and a flooded creek bottom has screwed up my best 2 spots. Walked in with the bow only to come back out and grab the rifle. This spot I’m in has been dead this year due to a strategically located corn feeder by a family member...

re: Food Plot Screens

I did this initially to block an adjoining landowner from shooting into one of my plots. Egyptian wheat was used along with sorghum. The deer and turkeys hammered the sorghum once it put on a head. It flat out works. ...

re: Ruger No. 1

This is what I’ve heard as well. Not to dismiss 257s comment, those rumors are out there too. I’m not looking for a tack driver, but this gun has peaked my interest for a long time. One of those guns you see as a kid and say, I’ll have one of those one day. I’m gonna check it off my list next wee...

Ruger No. 1

Who has one and how much do you like it? Have been fascinated by this gun and rolling blocks in general since I was a child. I have casually looked for one in a specific caliber and style for the last 10 years. Well.... I found one local and have the opportunity to buy it. The gun is a .243(I know...

re: Recommend me a chest harness

FHF is what I’m using now. Swap back and forth between it and the elastic vortex harness. Have also had the MR pouch as well. FHF seems to be the most streamline I’ve used. Fits better against the body. ...

Good solid bow. Easy to tune. Generally a easy shooting bow. If it’s setup to fit you you’ll like it. ...
Check the market bulletin or a forum called bullnettlenews. They used to have a trapping sub on there. Guy in Laurel went by Trapper John. Used to deliver all the animals to the fair. Have no idea how you would get in touch with him though. ...
Not sure how far south you are talking. The Rack in Collins has a guy named Joe that has helped me several times. He’s worked on most brands and can just about do anything you need. I’ve since built a press and bought most of the tools I need to do my own work. Has saved me and some buddies a weeken...
I lived through it. West side of Jones county was hammered. I watched it come across Leaf River bottom and my pasture. I still get an uneasy feeling when I think about it. To witness that kind of power is a sobering moment. If the storm would have jogged 100 yards south, my address would be differ...
