I'm sure i'll get downvoted like hell, but if your kids ortho cost 6K you are getting tremendous value out of that. Your kid will have a pretty smile and their teeth will be straighter making them easier to care for.
There probably isn't another procedure in all of medicine that takes the amount...

I'm an Oral Surgeon, but I work very closely with many Orthodontist. What would you think a reasonable price for ANY appliance would be? They will have to pay a lab bill for the lab to make the appliance. If they have it made in house they will have to pay for the labor and materials.

I've had it write informed consent forms for extractions, implants, sinus lifts, etc. I still have to edit them some, but they are pretty good.
It gave a a fantastic post op instruction form for extractions....

New car prices are coming down, especially on used vehicles.
There is an SUV that had been selling for 20K over MSRP for the last year or so. I kept waiting and last week finally found a dealer willing to sell it for 3K under MSRP....

If they are small or even intermediate sized cavities you probably wont have any symptoms.
If you have a symptomatic tooth, its probably beyond just needing a filling. By the time they start causing pain they are normally very big....

If you have dental insurance your insurance company is dictating the price, not the dentist. Assuming it is in network....
