My dad did at MD Anderson about 15 years ago. Did the sterile room for a month. He had a few hiccups but overall was a great success. Medicine has changed a lot since then. Ended up succumbing to cancer a few years ago - unrelated to the bone marrow transplant and the associated disease....

Hypothetically, on paper, U.S. by a million (resources, population, geographic location)
Reality, it is Germany by a million. Dudes were unstoppable. Conquering the world is unsustainable....

I am a U.S. and U.K. citizen. UK by birth via my Dad doing O&G there for so long that he became the equivalent to a permanent resident. Pending my Mexican "green card" via my husband
Husband is Mexican and U.S. permanent resident and German citizen.

Palliative care can be combined with the harsher treatments. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided along with curative treatment (chemo, radiation, etc). Just cost more $$$
So she is fighting comfortably......
