1. DO choose your user name carefully when you first register. Search the Member List to check for names that are similar to yours.

2. DO NOT "flame the board." "Flaming" is the deliberate act of creating a post in order to incite members of the board and invoke a negative response.

3. DO NOT expect any tolerance for statements, opinions, or views that are bigoted, racist, sexist, or hateful. Further, linking to sites that contain such content is prohibited.

4. DO NOT engage in personal attacks on other users. Healthy debate is expected and encouraged, but take the childish insults elsewhere. This is particularly true with regard to visitors from other schools. Moderators will be especially watchful for verbal abuse, ridicule, ad hominem attacks, and stalking.

5. DO NOT engage in baseless criticism of LSU athletes, coaches, or administrators. Legitimate evaluation of a player's performance or a coach's ability is allowed, but personal attacks and insults are prohibited.

6. DO NOT post ANY adult or sexually explicit content OR links to adult or sexually explicit content.

7. DO NOT use excessive profanity. Profanity is discouraged, and depending on the context in which it is used, might result in removal of your post.

8. DO choose a subject line that accurately describes the content of your post. Do not use deceptive subjects to attract attention to your post. Do not use one-word subjects that provide no description.

9. DO NOT threaten another user with physical violence or retribution of any nature whatsoever.

10. DO take a minute to check for an existing thread on a topic of interest to you before starting a new thread.

Enforcement of these rules lay with the board administrators. Violations may subject the user to suspension or, in some cases, removal of the user's account. We welcome users to click on the "Request Admin" button inside a post to notify admins of a post that needs to be reviewed.

I like tigernurse's second idea, I just came up with something I could remember because I didn't think I'd be on here much. Now I'm on here all the time, and I don't like my personal information being so readily available to any other poster. Everyone knows my email adress, and I can't get rid of it because I need it for school. If anything ever comes of nurse's second idea, please make it well known.

Please remmebr, as I should, that posting is a privilege and not a right. Chicken and his staff provide us with a great opportunity for the LSU commuity and we shouldn't abuse it or each other.

i would like to take a minute and point out Commandment #1.

the name one chooses should be the name one is stuck with. Either that or we should institute an Annual Open Enrollment Period for Name Changes and be done with it then. See Chicken- i am full of great ideas.

I said "virtually", lol. I just mean, there's flaming all the time (at least on the OT) and I rarely see "this post is marked unreadable" on them. I'm sure extreme cases are just not all of them. And maybe that's just on the OT, too. Either way, I don't mind. That's one of the reasons I love this site, the "intense" threads. Keep up the good work.

How would you know that something is never enforced? Do you read every single post ever made on the site? Every single one? Or do you have access to the deleted posts board? Are you an admin? If you answered no to either of those questions, then you really can't say that something is never enforced...

I agree. I think 1, 3, 5, 8, and 10 are somewhat enforced, but not much. 6 is the only one that's strictly enforced. 2, 4, 7, and 9 are virtually never enforced.

I think #6 is the only one enforced FWIW

"1. DO choose your user name carefully when you first register. Search the Member List to check for names that are similar to yours. "

I think it's only fair that you also list the fees charged for changing names. It might make them think twice about using an uncreative name like TigerinCity
