According to Forbes.com, the University of Florida has eliminated the computer science department to save $1.7 million, while the athletic department is at $99 million – an increase of $2 million from the previous year. It was a decision made by Florida’s state legislators, not one by the university, since the state has cut the school’s budget by 30%, the report said.
