Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin spoke to the media on Tuesday and provided an update on linebacker Otaro Alaka who will miss the rest of the season. Per The DallasNews.com:
quote:

Sumlin: Otaro Alaka is out for the season. It's been a tough time for him. He dislocated his elbow in fall camp and had a severe illness in his family right after that. It was a difficult time for him mentally. He came back and tore his labrum, about three-quarters of it. The decision was made to have him have surgery and he will fall under the time frame of applying for a medical redshirt. I think he will get this year back.
Sulmin hopes to get Alaka back from Spring Football next season.
