Ole Miss announced Monday that the sophomore offensive tackle will do so as a "walk-on," following "normal transfer rules."

"We wish him the very best," coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement.
Golson could play in 2014 only if he pursues a hardship waiver, otherwise he will not be eligible to play until 2015. It was reported last month that he was seeking a transfer closer to his Prattville, Ala. home in order to be closer to his sick grandparents.

The one time No. 3 OT prospect in the country, Golson played in 12 games last season as a right guard, all as a reserve.
